About this Blog

This blog started as an online diary and place for me to rant about annoyances in my family.

However since July it has become a place for me to catalogue and express my views and opinions on the treatment I have recieved following the diagnosis of a potentially cancerous tumor in my bowel.

On 3rd August 2011 I was told that it was cancerous. In April 2012 I was given the all clear.

October 15th 2013 I was diagnosed with peritoneal disease and liver metastases. The cancer was back and this time it is inoperable.

It is a little bit out of date as the NHS doesn't tend to have a WiFi connection in hospital and I can only post when I get home and posts take a while to write.

It is NOT about individuals or the nursing profession. It is about some of the inadequacies in the system and the way the NHS is failing some people.

My Big Box of Love

This is an ongoing page dedicated to all my lovely friends and family who provided me with this

As I open the presents I am going to tell you what I have opened and who it was from so you know that I am opening them up.

If you ever see my status as DIp, Dip, Dip you know to come back here and check!!

So far I have had

  • Some lovely snuggly socks from Sophie & family, which came in very handy when I walked on the cold Kitchen floor this morning with no socks on and got very numb feet!!
  • Some beautiful bookmarks from Debbie & family which will come in useful when I start a new book
  • A lovely little book of calmness from the Ozmen family
  • Some lovely scented pillows & a sparkly candle from Laura and the Harrisons
  • A very exciting looking sewing book, again from the Waddington clan
  • Some lovely crochet magazines from Sonya which have very much ignited my crochet mojo (not bad for someone who has been crocheting for less than 8 weeks.
  • A crossstich magazine, again from Laura to add to my obscene stash which recently moved into the attic ( I am not complaing, but Tony might be soon)
  • The Shawshank Redemption on DVD from Emma & the Patersons. A film I have always meant to watch and appears to be the same length as my chemo takes to go 'in'. How convenient :)
Check back for updates over the next few months to see what beautiful things I have found.

  • 11/10/11 From the Hoggans - Some chammomile teabags, a lush bath bomb (nice I can still bath as long as I hang my arm out the bath!!) & This book
